LIFE Natur’Adapt

Adapting nature conservation management to climate change across Europe

Climate change poses a growing threat to biodiversity, leaving many nature reserve managers unsure how to adapt conservation efforts. Traditional planning tools often don’t account for long-term climate impacts like shifting species and extreme weather.

To respond, managers need practical tools, shared learning, and policy support to bring climate adaptation into conservation.

The LIFE Natur’Adapt project in France rose to this challenge. It helped managers pilot climate-smart plans, developed user-friendly tools, fostered collaborative learning, and influenced policy. The result is a Europe-wide framework to make protected areas more climate-resilient and ready for the future.
